Nanny Services

We provide nanny services throughout Rhode Island, with many families located in Providence, Barrington, East Greenwich and Newport.

A nanny’s responsibilities are tailored to each family’s needs, the children’s ages, and the scope of the position. Typical responsibilities may include:

• Providing attentive, developmentally-appropriate care and supervision

• Supporting children’s developmental milestones and learning skills

• Managing daily routines, including feedings, diapering, naps, and bedtime

• Preparing meals and/or snacks for children

• Supporting potty training and other developmental transitions

• Planning and facilitating engaging indoor and outdoor activities

• Transporting children to/from school, activities and appointments

• Assisting with homework and school-related needs

• Child-related household tasks (their laundry, cleaning of bedroom/playroom)

• Communicating with parents about children’s routines and development

Depending on the position, a nanny may also provide additional household support, such as family laundry, meal preparation, errands, or other duties related to the children and household. As a rule of thumb, • • Light tidying/housework shouldn’t exceed more than 10% of nanny’s time. These responsibilities are discussed and clearly defined as part of the placement process.

Through our agency, we typically place nannies in positions ranging from 20-40 hours per week. While we can accommodate part time schedules, positions under 20 hours per week can be more challenging to fill.

For families with demanding or unpredictable schedules, nannies may work up to 50 hours per week, depending on the family's needs and the nanny's availability. This can be a good option for busy professionals, including physicians, executives, entrepreneurs, and other families with extensive childcare needs.

For families requiring more than 50 hours of childcare per week, we may recommend a rotating team of two nannies to provide consistent coverage while maintaining sustainable schedules for each caregiver.

A nanny provides consistent, ongoing care for your family, typically working a set schedule each week. This may be for temporary situations as well including a school vacation, during your nanny’s planned time off, or a child’s mild illness. In addition to providing supervision, nannies often take on a broader range of responsibilities related to your children's daily routines, development, and well-being.

A babysitter provides short-term or occasional childcare when parents are away, working from home, attending an event, etc. Babysitting is generally more focused on supervision, safety, and engaging children during a specific period of time.

If you're looking for consistent support and someone who becomes an integral part of your family's routine, a nanny may be the better fit. If you need occasional or temporary care, babysitting may be the right choice.

It can take a family 20 hours or more and 4-6 weeks to hire a nanny on your own. Our nannies are screened via a 6 step process that includes an application, conducting two interviews, obtaining detailed feedback from three professional references and a running comprehensive background check process (national criminal search, sex offender, and motor vehicle check). Only 6% of applicants are accepted to our agency!

Absolutely! We require a valid pediatric (child/infant) and/or adult (depending on the child’s age) CPR and First Aid certification. We follow OSHA guidelines for certification which considers online training only (computer-based training without a hands-on skill component or verification of competent skill performance by a qualified trainer) unacceptable for meeting the basic First Aid and CPR requirements.

It’s our goal that you find the best nanny for your family! Within the first month of employment, we check in with both the family and nanny individually to ensure the relationship is starting off strong. We’re here to troubleshoot any challenge that may arise.

If hiring a replacement nanny is the best option, we offer a one-time search credit based on the length of time the employee remained employed by your family (ie. for 90 days or less, 90% of the placement fee goes towards a new search).

Absolutely! We’re the only agency in Rhode Island that specializes in care of those with disabilities. We aren’t a medical company however. We may conduct a home visit to ensure your child’s needs are within the scope of services we provide. Depending on the severity of the medical needs, we may not be able to fulfill your request.

Yes we can! We have a diverse team of nannies that are ASL fluent and/or speak more than one language (ie. Spanish, Portuguese, French). We have several Spanish-speaking nannies on our team!
